Naples to Amalfi Ferry: Timetable, Fares and Tickets
The Naples to Amalfi ferry in 2026: NLG sailings from Molo Beverello, the early-November season end, fares, tickets, the last boat back and the Salerno route.
Yes, there is a ferry from Naples to Amalfi, but only in season. NLG (Navigazione Libera del Golfo) runs hydrofoils from Molo Beverello in central Naples to Amalfi several times a day from 1 April to early November in 2026. An adult one-way ticket costs €32.50 on NLG’s own price list, and the 08:35 sailing reaches Amalfi at 10:20 after a call at Capri.
If you want the whole day planned, NLG also sells a round trip on GetYourGuide, the From Naples: Ferry to Amalfi and Positano, from $83 per person (checked October 2026), with fixed times in both towns. From November, plan on the train to Salerno and Travelmar’s boat, or a road tour.

When the ferry runs in 2026
NLG’s Naples (Beverello) to Amalfi timetable is headed “1 April to 15 November 2026”. Read the individual sailings, though, and most carry an end date of 3 November: the 08:35, 14:40 and 15:35 from Naples, and the 08:54, 10:30 and 17:00 from Amalfi. The 10:40 from Naples stops on 31 October. The safe reading is that the season ends in early November, and a sailing dated after 3 November needs checking with NLG before you build a day around it.
That matters now. If you are in Naples in the last days of October or the first days of November, you are booking the last direct boats of the year. After that, no 2026 to 2027 winter timetable from NLG had been published as of late October 2026. The last winter service NLG listed on the coast ran only on weekends between Positano and Amalfi, and it has expired.
Two things still work in winter. Travelmar describes its Salerno to Amalfi and Positano boats as a year-round service, so the train to Salerno and a short crossing remain an option, weather permitting (one local site says the coast’s ferries stop at the end of October, so check Travelmar’s current timetable). And road tours from Naples run all year; our Naples to Amalfi Coast guide compares every land route.
Next season’s dates are not published yet. Do not book an April 2027 trip around this year’s times: check NLG’s timetable once it appears.
Molo Beverello and the crossing
All NLG boats to Amalfi leave from Molo Beverello, the hydrofoil pier for the islands and the coast, not from Calata Porta di Massa or Molo Immacolatella Vecchia, which serve the larger car ferries. Beverello is for foot passengers only. It sits about a 5-minute walk from the Municipio station on Metro Line 1, and roughly 3.7 km by road from Napoli Centrale, about 5 minutes by taxi without traffic. Cruise passengers should note that it is a separate pier from the cruise terminal, close by on Molo Angioino.
The NLG ticket office at Beverello opens 07:30 to 13:00 and 14:00 to 18:30. On the Amalfi side, NLG’s office at the port opens 08:00 to 18:30, and boats use Molo Pennello. Arrive at least 15 minutes before departure; reviewers describe crowded, slow gates at Beverello.
The crossing is not a straight line. NLG’s GetYourGuide timetable has the 08:35 calling at Capri and reaching Amalfi at 10:20, about 1 hour 45 minutes, and the 17:00 from Amalfi calling at Capri and arriving in Naples at 18:45. A booking site lists the run at 110 minutes, close to that. The 10:40 departure involves a change of boat at Capri, with Alilauro operating the Capri to Amalfi leg at 11:45.
Is it scenic? From an outside seat, yes: you cross the Gulf of Naples and round the end of the Sorrento peninsula. NLG warns that the boat can vary and an outside deck seat is not guaranteed, and reviewers mention boats with no outside seating and, on some, no air conditioning. Treat the views as a bonus.
The 2026 timetable
These are NLG’s published daily sailings between Naples (Beverello) and Amalfi for 2026. “Runs until” is the end date printed against each sailing; where none is given, the timetable’s general validity applies.
| Naples (Beverello) to Amalfi | Runs until | Amalfi to Naples (Beverello) | Runs until |
|---|---|---|---|
| 08:35 (calls at Capri) | 3 November | 08:54 | 3 November |
| 10:00 | Timetable validity | 10:30 | 3 November |
| 10:40 (change at Capri) | 31 October | 15:45 | Timetable validity |
| 14:40 | 3 November | 17:00 (calls at Capri) | 3 November |
| 15:35 | 3 November |
For a day trip, the useful pair is the 08:35 out and the 15:45 or 17:00 back, which gives you most of the day in Amalfi. NLG’s notes also mention a 17:40 connection from Naples via Capri, but that sailing does not appear in the timetable list, so do not count on it.
Fares and tickets
NLG’s own Naples to Amalfi fares, valid from 1 October 2025 to 31 December 2026:
| Ticket | Price |
|---|---|
| Adult, one way | €32.50 |
| Adult, return | €65.00 |
| 10:40 departure only, one way | €26.00 |
| Luggage, per piece (NLG’s Positano routes) | €5.00 one way, €10.00 return |
| Infant under 2, no seat | Free |
The Amalfi page lists no child fare, so ask at the office for children. NLG’s fares include a fuel surcharge that can change, and resellers often show higher prices for the same sailings, around €34 one way, possibly including booking fees. On the Positano routes NLG charges luggage per piece, so a large suitcase adds to the bill.
You can buy at the Beverello office on the day, or in advance. The GetYourGuide ticket from NLG covers one of two fixed circuits: Naples to Amalfi to Positano and back, or the reverse. On the Amalfi-first circuit you leave at 08:35, get about 3 hours in Amalfi, about 2 hours 20 minutes in Positano and are back in Naples at 17:45. The three legs bought separately at NLG’s adult fares come to €77.50. Reviewers’ main complaints are delays and crowding at the gates, and one felt the fixed times took away the freedom of a normal ticket.
Getting back to Naples
The last NLG boat from Amalfi to Naples leaves at 17:00 and runs until 3 November; the 15:45 is the earlier fallback. If you miss it, there is no later NLG boat to Naples that day. Buy your return when you buy your outward ticket and keep to it.
To see Positano on the way, NLG’s boats between the two towns take about 20 to 25 minutes, with departures from Amalfi at 08:54, 10:30, 13:40, 15:45 and 17:02 and a €13.00 adult fare. Positano’s last boats to Naples leave at 16:24 and 16:35. Our Naples to Positano ferry guide has that side of the coast.
Weather and cancellations
Hydrofoils can be suspended in rough seas, and in very rough weather every route can stop. NLG warns that the captain can cancel at the last minute. October and November are the wettest months in Naples, with average rainfall of 135.5 mm and 152.1 mm, so keep an eye on the forecast late in the season. The GetYourGuide ticket allows free cancellation up to 24 hours before, which helps if the forecast turns.
The Salerno route
From Naples Centrale, the train to Salerno takes about 35 to 40 minutes. Travelmar’s boats leave from Piazza Concordia, beside Salerno station, and reach Amalfi in 35 minutes for €12.00, about ten times a day, from 08:40. Some stopping runs call at Vietri, Cetara, Maiori and Minori and take 60 minutes. Each leg needs its own ticket, sold online or at the port office up to 30 minutes before departure; one small bag is included and extra bags cost €3.00. Travelmar can also cancel for bad weather.
When a tour is simpler
If you want commentary, a set plan and pickup in Naples, a boat tour does the organizing: HP Travel’s day with 3.5 hours in Amalfi starts from $105. Our boat tours page compares the sea days, including how they differ from the public ferry. After the ferry season, or if you get seasick, a road day trip from Naples is the year-round choice; start with which Amalfi Coast tour to book, and when you have a date in season, check availability for the NLG round trip.
