Positano, Amalfi and Ravello in One Day from Naples
Positano, Amalfi and Ravello in one day from Naples: minutes per town on three tours, Villa Rufolo entry, what you give up and who the route suits.
Yes, you can see Positano, Amalfi and Ravello in one day from Naples, and three tours on this site do exactly that. Each gives you about four hours on the ground in total, split across the three towns, with 75 to 90 minutes in Ravello. The rest of the day is the drive. The Positano, Amalfi & Ravello Premium Tour from Naples costs $71 per person and is rated 4.8 from 517 GetYourGuide reviews; Di Sarno’s group tour costs $101 and Gray Line’s guided day $122 (prices checked October 2026).
None of the three includes Ravello’s gardens: Villa Rufolo charges €8 at the gate. What you give up is Sorrento, which the classic Sorrento, Positano and Amalfi day includes, and most of your chances of a swim.

Minutes in each town on the three Ravello tours
The Worldtours $71 Ravello day picks up at four points, including Starhotels Terminus, Bar Picnic and the Stazione Marittima. After a 75-minute drive you stop for a 10-minute tasting at Meta, then a 15-minute photo stop above Positano. You get 75 minutes in Positano itself, 1.5 hours in Amalfi and 75 minutes in Ravello, then a 1.5-hour drive back. The listing runs 8 to 9 hours and needs at least 2 passengers from April to October and 4 from November to March.
Di Sarno’s From Naples/Salerno: Group Tour to Positano, Amalfi, Ravello (4.7 from 2,330 reviews) makes a 12-minute photo stop at Meta, then gives you 1 hour in Positano, 1.5 hours in Amalfi and 1.5 hours in Ravello. That is the longest Ravello stop of the three, and the shortest in Positano. The cruise-terminal meeting point costs the same $101 as the city meeting points.
Gray Line’s From Naples or Sorrento: Positano, Amalfi & Ravello Day Trip (4.7 from 2,325 reviews) is the only one of the three with an official local guide all day. The guide introduces each town, then leaves you to explore. In Positano you get about an hour on your own after the introduction. From April to October you then take a shared boat of about 30 minutes to Amalfi, sea conditions permitting; from November to March a bus does the transfer and a visit to the Arsenal of the Amalfi Republic is included. Amalfi gets 2 hours and Ravello 75 minutes. Hotel pickup is not included, so you go to a meeting point.
Added up, all three give you roughly four hours in the towns. The difference is where those hours fall: more in Positano on the Worldtours day, more in Ravello with Di Sarno, more in Amalfi with Gray Line.
Ravello’s gardens and what they cost
Ravello sits on the hill above Amalfi, and these tours drive up in 30 to 40 minutes. It has no beach. People come for the views from two villas with gardens over the sea, Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone. One Gray Line reviewer suggested giving Ravello the most time of the three towns, because it has more to visit and fewer souvenir shops than Positano or Amalfi.
Villa Rufolo is the easier one to fit in. The Fondazione Ravello lists it open daily from 9:00 to 20:00 for the 2026 season (from 29 March), last entry 19:30, with the ticket office open 9:00 to 19:00. A standard ticket costs €8.00, or €6.00 for over-65s and children aged 5 to 12. Tickets are sold only at the villa and need no reservation, so you can decide on the day. Its Ravello Festival concerts ran from 4 July to 5 September in 2026; the 2027 dates are not published yet.
Villa Cimbrone’s gardens include the Terrace of Infinity (Terrazzo dell’Infinito). It charges its own ticket, and there is no official 2026 page for its price or hours, so check at the gate. The gardens closed for restoration from early January to mid-March 2026.
Plan your 75 or 90 minutes before you arrive. Both villas charge separately, and your free time also has to cover the walk from where the minibus stops and a coffee or gelato. Ravello is the last stop on all three itineraries, so you reach it in the afternoon. That rules out Villa Rufolo’s free guided tours (first Saturday of the month, 11:00 in English), though the villa itself stays open until evening.
The three tours side by side
| Tour | Meeting | Positano | Amalfi | Ravello | Positano to Amalfi | Hours | From | Rating |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Worldtours premium tour | 4 pickup points | 15-min photo stop, then 75 min | 1.5 h | 75 min | Minibus | 8 to 9 | $71 | 4.8 (517) |
| Di Sarno group tour | City meeting points or cruise terminal | 1 h | 1.5 h | 1.5 h | Minibus | 8 | $101 | 4.7 (2,330) |
| Gray Line guided day | Meeting point, no hotel pickup | Guided intro, then about 1 h | 2 h | 75 min | Boat Apr to Oct, bus Nov to Mar | 8 to 9 | $122 | 4.7 (2,325) |
Prices are per person on GetYourGuide for the group option, checked October 2026. Each name links to our breakdown of that tour.
Pick the Worldtours day if price matters most: it costs $30 less than Di Sarno and $51 less than Gray Line, with the most Positano time. Choose Di Sarno if Ravello is the reason you are going, since it gives the town 90 minutes. Gray Line suits you if you want a guide walking you into each town and the boat leg between Positano and Amalfi in season.
Di Sarno sells the same day on Viator, where you can book the Amalfi boat ride in advance. On GetYourGuide the boat is paid on the spot.
What you give up on a Ravello day
Sorrento is the obvious loss. It is not one of the Amalfi Coast towns: it sits on the Sorrentine Peninsula, in the Metropolitan City of Naples, while Positano, Amalfi and Ravello are on the coast’s southern shore in the Province of Salerno. The classic Worldtours Sorrento, Positano & Amalfi day costs the same $71 and spends 70 minutes in Sorrento where the Ravello tour spends 75 minutes in Ravello. Our Sorrento, Positano and Amalfi guide walks through that day, and the itineraries page compares the two routes stop by stop.
Beach time shrinks too. Ravello is on a hill, so your only realistic swim is in Positano or Amalfi, and an hour has to cover the swim, lunch and the climb back up. Positano is steep, with staircases between the upper village and the beach, and a Di Sarno reviewer found the walk down to the beach and back took much of the stop.
Lunch is not included on any of the three, and the optional boat ride in Amalfi (€15 per person on the Worldtours and Di Sarno days, paid locally) comes out of your Amalfi time.
Is a Positano, Amalfi and Ravello Day Trip Worth It?
It is a good day if you would trade Sorrento’s shopping streets for gardens and views, if you have seen Sorrento already, or if you want the three best-known names on the coast in one go. It works less well if you want a long lunch, a swim or time to wander without watching the clock.
The low-star reviews on all three tours repeat one theme: the stops feel short. A few reviewers on the Worldtours day felt they had barely an hour in each place, and one on a July day said the minibus air conditioning could not cope with the heat. On the Di Sarno day, one reviewer reported that Sorrento was added at the last minute to merge two groups, which squeezed every stop. A Gray Line reviewer found the group was a combined one of about 30.
Check access needs before you book. Worldtours and Gray Line list their days as unsuitable for people with mobility impairments and wheelchair users. Di Sarno says its tour is wheelchair and stroller accessible if the chair or stroller folds, provided you tell them in advance.
If four hours split three ways feels too thin, drop a town. The Positano and Amalfi bus day at $73 gives about 3 hours in Positano and 2 in Amalfi; our day-trip page compares it with the other road tours.
Other ways to fit Ravello in
Giromondo’s From Naples: Exclusive Tour of Amalfi Coast ($95, 4.8 from 6,283 reviews) adds Sorrento: 1.5 hours each in Sorrento, Amalfi and Ravello. The catch is Positano, which is only a 15-minute panoramic stop outside the town. The day lasts 9.5 hours, and the operator does not recommend it for cruise passengers.
By sea, HP Travel’s boat tour of Amalfi, Positano and Ravello has a Ravello option at $151 from Naples, with 1 hour each in Ravello, Amalfi and Positano. Boats are seasonal; the boat tours page covers the dates and the sea legs.
A private car lets you set the pace. The Worldtours Ravello day has a private option for up to 8 at $313 per person, and the Amalfi Coast Private Day Trip ($265 per person, 5.0 from 46 reviews) starts in Ravello with an hour there, then Amalfi and a 1.5-hour lunch stop in Positano. Di Sarno’s private Positano, Amalfi and Ravello day is priced per vehicle: about $492 for a car with up to 2 travelers, about $663 for a minivan with up to 8. Private tours compares the per-person costs by party size.
Getting from Naples to Ravello on your own
By road, Ravello is about 56 km from Molo Beverello, roughly an hour’s drive without traffic by a routing estimate.
Without a car, the season matters. From April to early November, NLG ferries run from Molo Beverello to Amalfi, the first at 08:35 and the last back from Amalfi at 17:00. From Amalfi a SITA bus climbs to Ravello. SITA’s COSTIERASITA 24-hour ticket covered both towns for €10.00 before its 1 October 2026 fare change, and the new price is not yet confirmed. Our Naples to Amalfi Coast guide compares every route, and the Naples to Amalfi ferry guide has the timetable.
Small print on the three Ravello tours
- All three cancel free up to 24 hours before the start.
- On the Worldtours day the driver waits 5 minutes. Bookings made within 2 hours of departure meet at Hotel Terminus at 08:30.
- Di Sarno may cancel 24 hours ahead if too few people book, and offers a new date. Infants need their own seat.
- On the Gray Line day infants ride free on a lap, and the Positano to Amalfi boat runs only in calm enough seas.
