Which Amalfi Coast Tour from Naples Should You Book?

24 Amalfi Coast tours from Naples compared by towns, hours, price and rating, with a pick for first-timers, Ravello, budgets, families, cruises and boats.

Updated October 2026

To see four places in one day by road, book Giromondo’s From Naples: Exclusive Tour of Amalfi Coast: 9.5 hours, from $95 per person, rated 4.8 from 6,283 GetYourGuide reviews. You get 1.5 hours each in Sorrento, Amalfi and Ravello, but Positano is only a 15-minute photo stop outside the town, and the operator does not recommend it for cruise passengers.

If walking down into Positano matters more than Ravello, Worldtours’ $71 Sorrento, Positano and Amalfi day gives it 75 minutes and is the most-reviewed tour on this site. The tables below set out all 24 tours with a page here, and the picks after them match a tour to each kind of traveler. Prices are per person on a real date, checked October 2026.

How the tours from Naples differ

Every tour on this site leaves Naples in the morning and comes back the same day, but the days are built in three different ways. Road tours drive the coast in a coach, minibus or car and stop in two to four towns. Sea days drive you to a harbor, then sail along the coast with free time ashore. Combo days swap one or two towns for Pompeii.

Within the road tours, two routes dominate. The first runs Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi. It suits first-timers, but Sorrento sits on the Sorrentine Peninsula and is not an Amalfi Coast town, so you see two coast towns plus Sorrento. The second runs Positano, Amalfi, Ravello and skips Sorrento for the hilltop gardens above Amalfi. The itineraries page compares the two routes stop by stop.

Then comes the format. A shared coach or minibus is the cheapest way to go. A small group in a minivan caps the numbers (13 on HP Travel’s small-group day), and a private car gives your party its own driver for several times the shared price per head when two travel.

The detail that separates tours on the same route is time ashore. A “photo stop” of 15 minutes is not a visit, and two tours with the same towns in the title can give you 1 hour or 3 hours in Positano. Read the minutes before the price. Many low-star reviews on these listings say the same thing in different words: the stops felt too short for the time spent in the vehicle.

Four questions that narrow the list

Are you arriving on a cruise ship? Then the return time decides everything. Compare the return time on the voucher with your ship’s all-aboard time, and leave out any tour that says it is not for cruise passengers. Giromondo’s two days and You Know! Boat’s boat tour say so on the listing. Cruise excursions covers the port options.

What month are you traveling? Road tours run all year. The Naples ferries to Amalfi and Positano run from 1 April to early November in 2026, and sailings can be cancelled in rough seas, so a boat day belongs in late spring, summer or early autumn. Some road tours change in winter too: Worldtours needs at least 4 travelers from November to March, against 2 the rest of the year.

Sorrento or Ravello? Sorrento is a lively town with lemon groves and limoncello shops on the way to the coast. Ravello is quieter, high above Amalfi, with the gardens of Villa Rufolo (€8 standard ticket, sold on site). None of the three shared Ravello tours includes the villa ticket.

How many of you are there? Private prices are per person but fall fast with party size. On Viator, one private Positano, Amalfi and Ravello day works out at about $492 for a solo traveler, about $273 each for two and about $168 each for four. Private tours has the full party-size tables.

Picks by traveler

First-timers

Book Worldtours’ From Naples: Sorrento, Positano & Amalfi Premium Tour. From $71 without lunch ($99 with), it gives you 70 minutes in Sorrento, 75 in Positano and 1.5 hours in Amalfi over 8.5 hours, and its 4.8 comes from 18,989 reviews, the most of the 121 Naples-departure listings compared on GetYourGuide. For a guided walk in Sorrento and a minivan that drives into the center of Positano, Naples bay tour’s Official Tour: Amalfi Positano Sorrento & boat ride costs $79, or $93 with the boat ride (4.8 from 2,216). Our breakdown has the Worldtours pickup list.

Ravello lovers

Book Di Sarno’s Group Tour to Positano, Amalfi, Ravello at $101 when Ravello is the point of the day: it gives Ravello 1.5 hours, enough to pay the €8 and walk Villa Rufolo’s gardens. Worldtours’ Positano, Amalfi & Ravello Premium Tour costs $30 less at $71, with 75 minutes in Ravello. Gray Line’s Positano, Amalfi & Ravello Day Trip at $122 adds an official local guide and, from April to October, a boat from Positano to Amalfi. Is Positano, Amalfi and Ravello in one day enough? weighs the trade-offs.

Travelers on a budget

HP Travel’s Positano, Amalfi and Sorrento Small Group Tour is the lowest real-date price on this site at $62, for 9 hours with up to 13 people. It runs the route in reverse, with 2.5 hours in Amalfi first, then an hour each in Positano and Sorrento, and it starts only from Starhotels Terminus. A few reviewers got less time in Amalfi than listed. For hotel pickup, Worldtours’ $71 day costs $9 more. Small-group tours compares the minivan days.

Families with children

A private car makes the day easier with young children. Di Sarno’s Private Tour to Sorrento, Positano, and Amalfi costs from $241 per person by sedan, supplies car seats or boosters on request and picks up anywhere within Naples; it is rated 5.0 from 68 reviews. On a shared day, Di Sarno’s Ravello tour gives infants their own seat, offers boosters on request and takes folding strollers if you tell the operator first. Several listings exclude babies or non-folding strollers, and Positano is mostly steps, so check the listing before you pay.

Cruise passengers

Aiana Travel’s Amalfi Coast Tour from Naples Port meets you at the port (Molo Beverello or Molo Pisacane) and runs 7 hours to Positano and Sorrento, from $190; its 5.0 comes from very few reviews so far (4). Touring Italy’s Amalfi Coast Small-Group Tour Shore Excursion starts at the Stazione Marittima, lasts 7 hours with up to 12 people and lets you pick the towns with the driver, from $145 (4.4 from 32). Worldtours’ $71 day also has a Stazione Marittima pickup for cruise passengers. Whichever you choose, match the return time on your voucher to your ship’s all-aboard time.

Couples who want a boat

You Know! Boat’s Positano and Amalfi Boat Tour with Drinks drives you to Piano di Sorrento, then takes up to 12 people along the coast by boat, with swim stops, drinks and snacks, and 2 hours in Amalfi, from $195. Plan for 11 hours: you are back in Naples no earlier than 20:00, so it is not for cruise passengers. A €10 destination fee is paid in cash. For a cheaper day at sea, HP Travel’s boat tour costs $105. Both depend on the season and the sea; boat tours compares every sea option.

Adding Pompeii

Worldtours’ Amalfi Coast and Pompeii Full Experience Tour costs $90 in a regular group without lunch and includes the Pompeii entry ticket and a 2-hour guided visit; the live guide is guaranteed from 6 participants in the same language. You see one coast town, Amalfi, for 2 hours. Ciao Naples’ Amalfi Coast Sorrento, Pompeii Tour visits Positano and Sorrento before Pompeii, from $117 with entry extra; its group option was not bookable before 6 November 2026. Pompeii combo tours compares all three.

Private groups

For up to 15 people, See Amalfi Coast’s Amalfi Coast Private Day Trip runs Ravello, Amalfi, then Positano with a lunch break, from $265 per person and rated 5.0 from 46 reviews; it is driver-only, with no licensed guide. On Viator, the Private Amalfi Coast Tour: Scenic Positano, Amalfi & Ravello drops to about $168 each for four and about $124 each for seven. Worldtours’ Amalfi Coast Deluxe Private Tour is the dearest tour on this site at $313 per person, and a few reviewers expected a guide and got a driver.

Know before you book

  • The optional boat ride in Amalfi costs €15 per person, paid on site, on the Worldtours and Di Sarno road days.
  • Ravello’s villa tickets are not included on the three shared Ravello days. Villa Rufolo charges €8 and sells tickets only on site.
  • Several tours use meeting points, not hotel pickup: Beducci’s bus stops start at Molo Beverello at 08:10.
  • Free time can shrink with traffic. Several operators say stop lengths vary with traffic and road conditions.
  • Every GetYourGuide tour here can be cancelled free up to 24 hours before the start.

Frequently asked questions

Which Amalfi Coast tour from Naples is best for a first visit?

Worldtours’ Sorrento, Positano and Amalfi day, from $71 per person, gives a first-timer the three classic stops in 8.5 hours and is the most-reviewed tour on this site.

Is an Amalfi Coast boat tour from Naples better than a bus tour?

A boat suits a calm day between April and early November and gives longer stops in Amalfi. A road tour runs all year and suits anyone prone to seasickness. Boat tours compares the two.

Should I book a tour or go independently?

On your own, you can take the NLG ferry from Molo Beverello in season or combine train and bus, but you plan every connection yourself. Naples to the Amalfi Coast sets out each way.

Which tour suits seniors?

Pick a tour with hotel pickup and longer stops over more towns. Positano is steep, and most listings say they are not suitable for people with mobility impairments, so a private car with flexible timing is often the easier choice.
